I am very pleased with the 2018 Parks Plan that so many islanders were involved in. It‘s an invitation to the community to assist in creating and supporting parks, trails and beaches. Check out the Parks Plan.

Islands Trust

To be part of the federation of islands in the Salish Sea “entrusted” with the mission to protect this special part of the world is wonderful. I see it as a sort of greenbelt between Metro Vancouver and southern Vancouver Island. I have relished the opportunity to protect the trust area’s beauty, wildlife  and unique island communities through Trust Council, and I look forward to doing more.

Additional local benefits include:
  • Tax exemption program
  • Nature reserves on Bowen
  • Well water workshop
  • Reconciliation
  • Advocacy to prevent oil spills
  • GIS digital mapping
  • Advocacy around industrial logging on crown land
  • Supporting Bowen’s quest for rural grant funding
Let’s make the most of this part of Bowen’s local government system.
